I'm still talking about letting go of the perfectionist part of me that clung to me for a long, long time. Now, being perfectionist isn't about doing things well or to your highest ability. Those are good things. Because we do that to challenge ourselves and simply do well. Very good! But perfectionism feeds beautifully into our shame, the shame we might pick up from our families or heap on ourselves. Maybe it is connected to something we did, or someone said to us, or we absorbed from our families. Perfectionism is about the facade you put out there to the world while you inwardly cower thinking that someone might find out something awful about you. So what do you do instead?
