Do you find yourself putting things off more these days? Just not getting things done? A fellow lockdown friend across town recently told me that she has become the queen of procrastination. I started laughing because I could relate! And I hadn’t even realized it... This is one of the marks of stress that we’re living under right now. Sure, I’m getting out a little more, but, I’m still feeling very cautious and constrained. On purpose. I neither want to get sick nor share any potential sickness with others. Sometimes it's hard to look on the bright side even when things are going fairly well. When you're going through tough times, gaining the "glass is half full" mentality can be a feat in Itself! Don't Get Overwhelmed When you're in the middle of a stressful situation, it's important to disallow over-anxiousand over-analyzed thoughts. You really don't want to overwhelm yourself with an over-stimulated mind because the added stress will only strain your mind further and you'll find it nearly impossible to think positively. Write Them Down Really, you probably know that. It feels so good to get it out of your head, onto paper, and onto a list. A list that you can cross things off of once they’re done. Practice That Breathing Sit down in a comfortable space. Consciously breathe in through your nose from the bottom of your belly to the top of your head. Hold it just a moment or two. Breathe it out through your nose with a whoosh. Do that four more times. Claim that calm that comes with slowing yourself down. Sending you love from my heart.
